Pics of the Kiddos

We haven't been doing much around here lately, but time doesn't stand still, so I have been taking pics of the kids. Hoping to get them dressed up and outside to take pictures while the dogwoods and spring flowers are in bloom! Wish me luck!
We all stayed in our jammies yesterday. Maddy was "helping" mommy fold laundry by stacking washclothes on Gavin! He loved watching her go back and forth between the pile of laundry and him. It was nice to see them both being entertained at the same time and interacting with each other! A fun sign of what's yet to come...

We were at my parents overnight one day last week. Here's Maddy out in the yard. She was having all kinds of fun going up and down the steps and watching the dog, Molly. I thought these pics were too cute! I had to get some pictures of her in this cute little outfit that MeMe got her--and I made her bow!

Easter Weekend

Jerod finally had a holiday off after a whole year of working every holiday weekend. And although it was a very busy Easter weekend, it was great to see everyone and the kids really enjoyed their time with family! Here's Gavin with a huge smile! Every time I raised the camera to take a picture of him and Great Grandma Browers, Gavin would get this huge smile! So cute! This was his first time to meet Jerod's Grandma.

Maddy is a pro at hunting eggs. She had a little practice in the last few weeks, just hunting eggs around the living room. Over the weekend she got to do a lot of hunting! Here she is in her little yellow outfit, hunting eggs in Grandma Browers yard. Even though she wouldn't look at the camera, these are some of my favorite pics of her of all time. There's just something sweet about them...

We were able to spend one day at each of the parents' houses, so we really did get to visit with everybody. It was so great to see Daniel. We are so thankful that he got to come home from Jacksonville for a long weekend. I miss my little bro a lot! I can't believe we didn't get any pictures of us at my moms! Too busy taking pictures of the little ones. Here's Grandma and Gavin on Saturday.
Maddy had fun hunting eggs at Grandma's too, but also loved all the goodies that the Easter bunny left at their house. She got her first try at blowing bubbles and loves it!
No matter how hard I tried, we couldn't get a good picture of the 2 kiddos and didn't succeed in getting a great family picture either. But, here are our two strapped in the car...can you believe this is the only one of the two of them? I am going to put them back in their outfits and we are heading out somewhere to take pictures!

Miss Maddy

Just wanted to share how Maddy & I spent a little of our Sunday afternoon while Gavin took a nap... Maddy discovered "Pretty Paint". She couldn't say nail polish, but paint was clear as a bell, so we went with that name! I painted her toes for the first time--she was very interested and now walks around and looks at her toes. It was cute to see her try to blow on her toes...I was doing that to dry them quickly!

She also helped me put together a fast supper-Meatball Sandwiches and Parmesan Potato Wedges. She put all of the frozen meatballs in the pan and of course tried to bite into them. She had a good time putting them in and we counted several meatballs. We may have a little domestic diva on our hands! Good times!

Gavin is 1 month old!

It’s amazing that Gavin turned one month old yesterday! Amazing because a month can go by so fast and seem so long at the same time! I look at him and realize how much he has grown and changed in such a short period of time. It’s funny that you don’t always notice it on a day to day basis, but just stopping today to think about it helps me see all the differences. His looks are turning more baby than newborn, his hair is getting lighter, he is very alert, loves to be held and is very impatient(hmmm…not telling where he gets that!) He loves his baths & enjoys being snuggled in fleece jammies. Although jealousy has become obvious in many ways, Maddy loves him & says “HI BABY” in a high-pitched voice all the time. She is starting to act like a “little mommy” by running to his side when he cries and she is eager to "help" him with his binky (she's much to rough to actually be allowed to help wiht it though). She loves to stick her face right up in his and talk to him, look at him, poke at him, etc. when we are all on the floor playing. Gavin tolerates it, but makes it known when he needs his personal space! He cries much more than Maddy did & is a little more demanding that way. He sleeps well, so I am so thankful for that! Monday night he slept from 9pm til 2am, then again from 2:30am until 5:30am. The 5 hour stretch is his record so far & it felt so good to sleep longer than 2 or 3 hours!!! He also smiled for the first time on Monday!!! It was adorable & sweet--hopefully we can get a smile for the camera soon! Other than that, typical newborn eating, pooping and sleeping are the norm here! He had his 1 month checkup today…
Gavin is: 9 lbs. 13oz., 21-1/2 inches which is about 50% for both weight and height. He is happy and healthy! Here are some of the highlights of our little guy's first month!
